Hunger As Ideology

by

We live in a world where image is everything. If you don’t have your looks then you have nothing. The norm isn’t to be natural anymore. You don’t like something on your body, you can get it fixed. Don’t like the bump on your nose? Have it flattened. Don’t like your boobs/pecs? Get implants. Too fat? Lipo is the answer.

It doesn’t come as a surprise to me that more and more people have some sort of eating disorder because it’s not hard to hate your body in the society that we live in. Advertisements are shoved in our faces telling us of what we should look like and if we don’t meet the standards then we’re imperfect.

Not everyone should be expected to fit into the size zero pants.
